On a daily basis we affirm different beliefs to ourselves – both positive and negative. So do those around us, though what we affirm to ourselves is far more POWERFUL. Teenagers with a strong sense of identity are not as vulnerable to the stress and pressure of trying to assimilate to others.
As an artist, mother of four and an advocate for children's emotional health, I developed this set of self-affirmations for teenagers. It's well acknowledged that the teenage years are crucial years for identity formation and when used frequently, self-affirmations can ensure that the words our teenagers say to themselves are mindful, genuine and positive. The cards are designed to promote confidence, self-worth and self-love.
Original watercolour, pencil, hand illustrations have been merged with some graphic design elements to provide the art basis for the cards in this collection.
THE FINER DETAILS:
This collection includes a set of 22 cards, A6 in size. One of the cards included in the set, states 'I know that I belong' where your teenager can adhere a photograph, letter, illustration of their family, friends or a group that they feel connected to. Also included is a summary card. A bonus digital video of the characters also known as 'Annie and Wilbur', who feature in the illustrations on these cards, will be emailed to you upon shipment of your physical order. The video was essentially the beginning of the creative process and where the 'Affirmation & Thoughts' collection has grown from and it's an inspiring watch.
The cards are 350gsm, which means they're strong and bend resistant. They're coated on both sides, providing a durable, tactile and silky finish. The finish allows them to be lightly and gently wiped with a damp cloth.
Also included in the collection is a beech wooden stand measuring 12cm x 2.5cm x 2.5cm, to showcase your daily affirmation.
The cards come packaged in a handmade 100% organic cotton bag and then a hand-finished box, providing you the option of transporting them around.

All illustrations are watercolour and ink originals, completed by hand by me (Australian artist and designer, Belinda Firman). You will receive a high quality print of 21 different designs and 1 summary card.
